So, it's your turn to host the monthly girly nite out, and you have no clue what to do? You don't want to invest a lot of time, tutus or money, but you do want everyone to enjoy themselves. Well, take a deep breath and relax. Several young women were asked for their suggestions, and here are the five ideas that topped the list.
1. Watching Movies
Who doesn't like a good movie? And since this is a girly nite out, "chick flicks" are a definite must (you know - the kind with laughter, tears, and of course, romance). It doesn't have to be expensive either. Movie rental costs are very reasonable, so you can pick up several and allow your friends to choose. And, chances are, one of the girls already owns a great video that everyone 'just has to watch'. Of course, most girls will talk about the movie (or, most likely the movie's lead actor) for hours afterwards, making this a low stress, easy- to- plan option. So pop some popcorn, dump some chips in a bowl, kick back, and enjoy.
2. Shopping for Neon Clothing
No girls' night guide would be complete without including a trip to the mall. Girls are the queens of shopping - and whose wardrobe doesn't need to be updated, especially after flipping through those fashion magazines to learn the latest styles. The mall is the perfect 'girls' night' destination since it is complete with everything necessary to enjoy a great evening, and a variety of stores to suit everyones individual tastes. You can purchase that amazing pair of shoes, expand your music and movie collection, or buy your favorite niece a birthday gift. You can even stop for dinner or snacks at the food court. And the bonus? If you don't have any cash, you can simply have fun modeling all those glamorous outfits and giggling with the girls. So pack up the crew, pool the gas money, and head for a mall near you. Happy Christmas Tutus!
3. Bowling
If you want to do something entertaining & active, bowling is the perfect choice. It is one of those activities that you don't really have to be good at to enjoy, and it also allows for a lot of socializing in a relaxed environment. Since most people are there for the fun - and likely won't take the scores or the competition seriously - you'll soon find that everyone is laughing, talking, and probably acting just a little bit silly. Bowling is also quite inexpensive, so a couple of games, even with shoe rentals and snacks, still makes this an affordable girls' night choice.
4. Make-Overs
I know what you are thinking, "Doesn't that get a little old?" Never! Neon Make-up, neon hair extensions and nail fashions change as quickly as clothing styles, and there are always new things to try. If you are feeling especially daring, you can add a few little twists and make a game of it. For example, one girl can volunteer to be the "model" and bravely allow her blindfolded friends to apply her makeup. For extra fun, after the make-over is complete, dare her to walk down the street, or go to the store. Girls' night make-overs are also a good opportunity to get that manicure, pedicure, or facial that you've been wanting without paying spa prices. And this is a safe, friendly environment; so be creative and experiment with new colours and styles. You just might discover a brand new you!
5. Talking
There is no way around it, it is a universal truth - girls like to talk. You can be sure that no matter what activity you choose for the evening, it will be filled with conversation, so don't over plan. There are also several games that involve girls' favorite past time of secret sharing and juicy details. Try a friendly game of Truth. Call out the name of one of the girls and ask her a question. She has no choice but to answer. Once she has answered, she can challenge someone else. The game continues like this for as long as you like. There are some rules, though. Remember that this is meant to be a friendly game, so be considerate and don't ask questions that will cause embarrassment or hurt, or require derogatory comments about others. And of course, all secrets are confidential and must remain in the group. Some of the most memorable girls' nights can simply be crawling into your pj's and talking until you fall asleep mid-sentence. And the best part is that it won't cost you a single cent.
So, whether you are having your friends over, or going somewhere as a group, planning a girly nite out doesn't have to be expensive or stressful. Just choose your favourite activity, and enjoy a fun evening of laughter, conversation, and great friends.
A ballet dance tutu is a skirt worn as a costume in a ballet performance, often with attached bodice. It might be single layer, hanging down, or multiple layers starched and strutting out. It tends to add a floating motion when ballerinas dance in them.
Neon Tutus are often wrap around skirts, fastened in the waist by ribbons sewn in its waist. They may also be attached to leotards
, usually armed. While long romantic dance tutus and girly nite out rave skirts are usually carried in regular clothes bags, the classical 'pancake' clubbing toys requires a special round bag for protection and transport: folding it would indeed ruin its shape and looks. Practice tutus (two/three layers of fabric) are seldom protected in a bag.
There are several types of ballet club dance tutu:
Romantic Tutu: three quarter length bell shaped skirt made of tulle with a fitted bodice and sometimes sleeves. The hemline falls between the knee and the ankle. The romantic tutu is free flowing to emphasise lightness and ethereal quality of the romantic ballets such as Giselle or Les Sylphides. It is said to have been invented, or at least popularized, by Marie Taglioni.

Classical Neon Tutus (bell): A short, stiff skirt made with layers of netting with a slight bell shape and fitted bodice. It extends outwards from the hips and does not use a wired hoop. It is usually longer than a classical (pancake) tutu. These are used in the famous ballet paintings by Degas.
Classical Tutus (pancake): A short, stiff skirt made with layers of netting that extends outwards (from the hips), and has a fitted bodice. The pancake style has more layers of net and uses a wire hoop and much hand tacking to keep the layers flat and stiff.
Balanchine/Karinska Tutu: also known as the "powder puff" is similar to the bell and pancake tutu with the exception that no hoops are used and there are fewer layers of netting. The skirt is loosely tacked to give a softer, fuller appearance. This style was designed originally for the ballet version of Georges Bizet's Symphony in C. It has gained an iconic reputation.
The word tutu may be a corruption of cucu, French baby talk for cul-cul meaning roughly "botty-wotty" (for bottom)[citation needed]. Alternatively, it may derive from tulle, the material from which tutus are often made. Recently, UV Reactive neon tutu's have been all the rage in clubs up and down the UK, which is great for those few places who actually sell them. Places like girly nite out also have all manner of neon accessories - so go buy as much as your eyes can handle!
